Frequently Asked Questions
I am an online therapist in Illinois offering private-pay therapy for high-functioning anxiety and menopause.
How much does therapy cost?
My fee is $195 per 55-minute session. This rate applies to all areas of my practice, including therapy for high-functioning anxiety, menopause, and midlife transitions.
I work with a limited number of clients so I can offer thoughtful, consistent care and avoid over-scheduling. My fee reflects the time, training, and care I bring to each client, both during sessions and behind the scenes.
Payment is due at the time of service. I accept credit/debit cards and HSA/FSA cards.
Do you accept insurance?
I do not accept insurance and am a private-pay practice. Working outside of insurance allows me to focus fully on your care, instead of diagnoses, treatment quotas, or documentation requirements that don’t always support long-term growth. Insurance often requires therapists to assign a diagnosis early, limit session frequency, and justify care to third parties. These constraints can work against the kind of deeper, sustained change that brings people to therapy. With private pay, your care also stays fully confidential; a diagnosis is not added to your permanent medical record.
If you have out-of-network benefits, I can provide a superbill to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. It’s worth knowing that superbills require a formal diagnosis code, and once submitted to insurance, that diagnosis becomes part of your insurance record. This is something we can discuss together before I provide one, so that you can make the choice that feels right for you. Statements of sessions are also available upon request.
How often will we meet?
Most clients start with weekly sessions to build momentum and consistency. Over time, some transition to meeting every two weeks or periodic check-ins, depending on their needs and goals.
There’s no one “correct” schedule. We’ll collaborate to find a rhythm that supports your goals, your nervous system, and your life.
Do you see clients in person?
I currently offer virtual therapy for adults across Illinois. Sessions are held securely online, so you can meet from the comfort and privacy of your own space.
What can I expect in our first session?
Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. We’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, what you’re hoping for, and what approaches may best support you. You don’t need to prepare anything in advance; just come as you are.
The first session is a space to understand what is bringing you into therapy at this time, get a sense of how therapy with me feels, ask questions, and see whether working together feels right.
There’s no pressure to commit long-term. We move thoughtfully and with consent.
How long will I need therapy?
Everyone’s journey is different. Some clients come for a few months to focus on a specific challenge. Others stay longer as therapy becomes a space for ongoing reflection, growth, and integration.
We’ll collaborate to set a pace that feels right for you.
